Club History

The Monash University Football Club was formed in 1961 and commenced playing in the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) in the 1962 season. Player numbers quickly swelled and, in 1964, the Monash University club added a second team with the original team playing as the Monash Blues and the new boys playing as the Monash Whites. These pages cover the history of Monash's younger team - the Whites.

Our History in Two Parts...

After only two years of existence the Monash Whites, at the end of season 1965, went into a five year hiatus.
The Whites came back to play a further thirty seasons before its merger with the Monash Blues Football Club saw it eventually, at the end of the 2000 VAFA season, cease official competition under its original, and rather rare, moniker.

After the merger in 2000, the team played that season under its own name but 2001 saw the 'Whites' commence play as the Monash Blues' Club XVIII side. In 2014 we moved from the Club XVIII competition to the VAFA Thirds.
